Rich Hart from the Alliance Fire and Safety Venice FL. wanted to give a coin to each member of the company to carry with them at all times to remind them of the core values, our promise we make to the customer, and the three uniques we offer to our customers.

It was placed in the hands of each employee by the owner/visionary of the company with the challenge to not only carry it, but to memorize the key messages on it, and to be ready to present it on demand by supervisors, and to quote from memory the key messages. If they are able to do that, they are given a gift card immediately and are entered into a drawing for a sizeable cash prize at the end of the year. We asked Matthew a few questions on what this challenge coin meant to him.

What does the challenge coin mean to you?

It is a special and significant possession that I carry with me every day at work. It is something I hold in my hand each morning when getting dressed, and repeat the messages on the coin. It is an honor to carry it as a member of our company.

Was there an event, ceremony, fundraiser, or achievement for this challenge coin?

We had a drive-by during COVID where each employee drove their vehicle through a line up of the owners and leadership, being given Christmas gifts, but leading up to being entrusted with the Challenge Coin and accepting the personal challenge from the Visionary to live according to those core values as they represent the company.

The coin has become a significant means by which we remind our employees of our values what we uniquely offer our customers. It is beautiful and expresses a value that far exceeds its cost. We are so thankful for its presence in our company, and for the way, our employees have embraced it.
