You've seen festival pins but did you know we also commonly make festival coins as commemorative pieces and VIP favors? We aim to please and ourย customer reviewsย prove it. We would be honored to help you create a coin that is uniquely you.
Whether it's a music festival, theatre, food festival, art, car shows, dog shows, or hot air balloon festivals, Custom Challenge Coins is your #1 source for Festival Coins, Patches, and Pins! Why? Not only have we been producing festival merch for years, weโve done so for some of the biggest names; Mardi Gras Festival, Oktoberfest, SXSW, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Fiesta, Burning Man Festival, and Fantasy Fest to name a few. Whether youโre planning for a couple hundred or a couple million visitors, weโve got you covered.
What is a festival coin? Itโs a coin made from a metal like brass or zinc and plated with polished or antiqued metal like gold, silver, or copper. The coin design typically includes bright enamel colors and artistic edges. Unlike festival pins or patches, coins are double sided which makes a coin the perfect merch for dual branding, conveying multiple messages, doing giveaways, or promoting more than 1 entity. Our coins are typically much bigger than the currency you carry around in your pocket. Our most popular coins are between 1.5โ and 2.0โ, that being a diameter for round coins or length/width for custom shaped coins, and start at 3 mm in thickness (almost โ of an inch).
New to designing coins? No worries, our experienced graphic design team and knowledgeable, US-based customer care team are here to assist you throughout the design process. We offer no obligation, free artwork with up to six free revisions, weโre not satisfied until you are absolutely sure your design will steal the show!

Challenge coins have various processes and types of coins to achieve different design stylings. Simply put, Soft Enamel are textured, with the enamel filled below the metal ridges, while Hard Enamel are smooth, the overfilled enamel polished smooth against the metal. You can have one side of your coin be soft enamel and the other side be hard enamel.
Challenge coins can come in a variety of sizes and shapes but the most common coin size is 2.0”, followed by 1.75” and then 1.5”. If we have concerns about your selection our team will let you know the optimal size of your coin based on your design.
The majority of our coins are die struck into brass. Large, custom shaped, or designs with large cutout areas will be cast from a zinc alloy. We made a video that goes into further details here.
Die struck coins have the designs transferred to a front & back mold, the raw brass being struck by each mold with enough force to transfer both the raised & recessed areas of the design into the brass. Die Cast molds are fit together and molten zinc metal is injected into the die to create the coin blank. You can also read our article in our resources section here!
